Jaguar de Jade is one of the many creative projects Arely and Christopher bring to life together.

Arely Camacho is an artist and herbalist.

Her journey with plants became more fruitful when she consciously made the decision to take responsibility for what she bring forth in the world, how she relates to it and the desire to be able to protect and support her community.

Arely grew up in the Chihuahuan Desert border area of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico and El Paso, USA. Childhood camping trips to the forest mountains in the Chihuahua region and day trips to the desert shaped her appreciation and love for nature. When in 2016 Arely moved to the Texas Hill country the call of the plants grew bigger and their springs nurtured her and fed her drive to learn from the plants.  She completed more than 200+ hours with Ginger Webb in the Sacred Journey School of Herbalism and have been researching and working with plants on her own since 2017.

Jaguar de Jade was brought to reality to share with others the magic of being aware of how we are surrounded by these patient, caring & wise relatives. Making medicine with plants is an honor to her and a huge responsibility. With Arely’s Mexican ancestry comes the reality that knowledge was lost to colonization and cultural assimilation.  She takes the task of reconnecting, relearning and remembering the truthful and honorable ways of living in this world.

She has been drawing since childhood and when she remembered how to listen to the plants her inner world started translating into her art more clearly. Art has helped her process and understand the spiritual aspect of plant medicine and she hopes the message and medicine reaches more people.

Christopher Amorim is a painter, print maker, soccer player, builder and gardener that strives to find art and incorporate that pure expression of himself in everything he does.

Born and raised in Austin, Texas. Son of a Brazilian father and a white-Choctaw mother, from a young age he engaged in art.  Christopher describes art as one of the principal pillars in his life, keeping him up throughout his life. Most of his art is a spontaneous expression of that moment, few times he has a preconceived idea of what will come forth.

Creating art for him is like taking dreams, thoughts, emotions, experiences out to the world. He believes creating art is being in the moment and union with the medium.  Small and precise strokes, playful depiction of light and shadows and movement in his art are a reflection of the appreciation for Impressionism and the semi-realistic characters of his influence by Cartoon and Anime style.

Christopher is color blind, so for a while his art was black and white, to avoid worrying about what colors may have come up, but that changed in the past years and he’s experimenting more with acrylic paint. In 2017, after meeting Arely he started experimenting with lino carving and printmaking, a medium that allows for a lot of shadow and light play.
